Sharon Hargrave, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arizona, California, and Texas. In her work at Fuller Theological Seminary and Pepperdine University she has developed RelateStrong, a small-group curriculum designed to help couples and individuals develop strong and rewarding relationships.

In her online private practice, she works with individuals, couples, and families who are facing difficult situations and who are searching to strengthen positive relationships with their loved ones. Individuals will understand ways to enhance their primary relationships including family, romantic partners, work relationships and life long friendships. Couples experiencing tension or communication challenges will learn how to resolve conflict and improve their relationship with each other. Families facing parenting and intergenerational issues will find hope and healing in a safe, nurturing environment.

Along with her husband, Terry Hargrave, PhD, Sharon has helped develop the concepts of Restoration Therapy based on the principles of attachment, self-regulation, and mindfulness. Believing that how we are loved, what coping we use when faced with pain, and how we think about ourselves and our experiences, shapes who we become. Empowering clients to develop skills that determine their future and connection in relationships, are the main outcomes Sharon believes makes a successful therapy experience. Healing and hope come from connecting with others. Research reports that these connections greatly increase life satisfaction.

Sharon received her undergraduate degree from Biola University and her Masters in Marriage and Family from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has been a therapist for over thirty years and has shown compassion and understanding with those she serves. Sharon is married, has two adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.

Restoration Therapy

Building Love and Trust

Restoration Therapy combines the advantages of attachment theory, emotional regulation and mindfulness in an efficient and organized fashion that allows both the therapist and client to clearly understand old destructive patterns of behavior and promote change. One of the main advantages of RT is that its approach provides the therapist with a clear understanding how violations of love and trustworthiness develop into problems of identity and safety. This keeps the therapist organized and focused on patterns difficult for clients to change. As the therapist makes these identity and safety patterns known, clients can be helped by making more thoughtful and informed choices about personal beliefs about self and relationships resulting in long lasting behavior change.
